NRV native becoming top prosecutor

When Pulaski County’s new commonwealth’s attorney officially takes over the reigns Wednesday, he doesn’t have to worry about being in unfamiliar territory.

Justin L. Griffith has been an assistant commonwealth’s attorney in Pulaski County since 2011, including serving as chief deputy. The community isn’t even unfamiliar territory because most of Griffith’s life has been spent in the New River Valley.

He grew up in Christiansburg, graduating from Christiansburg High School in 2002. He then left the area to attend Division II Glenville State College in West Virginia on a football scholarship, and, subsequently, headed to Thomas M. Cooley School of Law, a private law school now affiliated with Western Michigan University.
