Bail approved for nude pedestrian



A Cana man who abandoned his vehicle on Interstate 81 and then ended up naked and covered in pavement sealer near Pulaski County Visitor’s Center is out of jail.

A Pulaski County judge set a $2,500 bond for Markus Evan Beamer so he could be released and return to work. The 25-year-old man had been held without bond at New River Valley Regional Jail since Nov. 22 on charges of indecent exposure, obstruction of justice and being intoxicated in public.

According to a prosecution summary of evidence during Beamer’s bond hearing, Virginia State Police found a vehicle registered to Beamer abandoned on the interstate near mile marker 95.5 Nov. 22. The vehicle had guardrail damage on both sides, but no one was around.
