Before heading to Pulaski’s fire parade Thursday night, be sure to visit Ratcliffe Memorial Transportation museum to get a close-up look at the town’s historic 1917 LaFrance fire truck.

This year marks 100 years since the truck was delivered to Pulaski. What more fitting way to celebrate this milestone in its history than highlight the truck on the day of Pulaski’s 71st annual Fire Prevention Parade?

The truck, prominently displayed in the museum’s main gallery, is available for close inspection and photo opportunities Thursday, 1-3 p.m.

Other artifacts from local fire departments and an early 1900s fire truck restored by the Hudson family also are featured as part of National Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 7-13.

Desserts will be available. Bluegrass music will be provided by musicians who participate in the Pulaski Bluegrass Jam Thursday nights at Pulaski Senior Center.
