MONTGOMERY COUNTY — A Roanoke man was charged with illegal body disposal Wednesday in connection with a missing child case in Roanoke.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Brian Wright confirmed Andrew Christopher Terry’s arrest is related to missing 3-month-old Arieanna Day. However, he declined to say what, if any, relationship Terry is to the child.

Wright also would not say whether a body has actually been located, or the search is ongoing.

He says Roanoke Police Department detectives requested assistance from the sheriff’s office on an active criminal investigation Wednesday.

Terry, 31, was arrested at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday. He is being held without bond at New River Valley Regional Jail.

According to online general district court records in Montgomery and Roanoke counties, Terry’s address was listed as Blacksburg in March of this year, when he received a safety belt citation. Police now say he is from Roanoke.

No further information is being released in the case at this time.

Day’s mother reportedly called police late Tuesday to report the infant missing. The mother told authorities she put the child to bed at 10 p.m. and found her missing upon returning to the room to check on her about an hour later.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call 911 or 540-853-5959.
