The Cougar golf team earned another win Sept. 10, this time against Carroll County High School at Draper Valley Golf Course.

The two teams played a nine hole, Par 36 course during this event. The Cougars earned a total score of 156 while the Cavaliers scored 179 points.

Jason Hall took top honors for the day with a low score of 37. Barry Buckner Jr. was close behind with a 38 and Austin Crabtree scored a 39. Riley Moore finished the day with a 42, Jake Mitchell scored 46 and Paul Southern scored a 68.

For Carroll County, Josh Coleman took top honors with a score of 42. Austin Beamer and Trenton Burnette each scored a 45. Jayden Johnson turned in a 47. Will Dalton scored a 49 and Ethan Smith scored a 56.

“The team played very well,” Head Coach Larry Thomas said. “It was nice to see them come back from a lackluster performance at Hanging Rock last week. Austin probably played his best nine holes of the year in this match.”

The Cougars were scheduled to travel to Hunting Hills Country Club to face Cave Spring Tuesday. At press time there was no word of that event being postponed. The team will travel back to Hanging Rock Golf Course in Salem Thursday to compete in the Region 4D Sub-Regional match.

Tee time is set for 10 a.m. Thursday.
