FOL has lots of new children’s books

Staff Report

Pulaski County Friends of the Library (FOL) has received another large donation of children’s books being offered at special prices during its September book sale.

If you’d like to encourage your child to read more, come to the sale Friday, Sept. 7, and Saturday, Sept. 8, to pick up five of these newly-donated children’s books at the price you would normally pay for four.

FOL’s bookstore is at the large bookstore sign, across Third Street NW from Pulaski Library. Sale times are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Lance Hudnall, FOL book sale coordinator, expressed gratitude to the many people who have recently donated 100s of new and used books to the nonprofit group for its monthly sales. He said one donated collection contains a “good number” of religious/inspirational and Christian fiction books.

New books on Southwest Virginia history, from the Jess Carr estate, also are available. Buy a book and receive one from the Carr estate free.

A library tote bag also is free with the purchase of any seven hardback books and any 10 paperbacks. Titles by most popular authors are available. All books are sold well below retail price. Proceeds are used to fund Pulaski County Library System programs, including reading programs.

For additional information on the sale or how to donate books for future sales, call Hudnall at 276-728-4626.
