Sheriff’s Dept. receives donation

David Gravely/SWT

Fairlawn store manager Jeff Lawrence is a dog lover and feels it is important to give back to the community. When he found out that the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department had received and was training a new K9 officer, he was proud to make a donation on behalf of Rural King to help make Zeus, who is currently in the process of learning scent detection for narcotics, feel a little more at home. Lawrence and the store donated a $450 dog house and kennel setup to help Zeus and his handler, Deputy Giampocaro, get settled in. Sheriff Mike Worrell and his staff feel that Zeus is a fine addition to the department, and are looking forward to not only working with him in narcotics detection, but also getting out to local schools and events to help educate people on the role Zeus can play in the department. Pictured here are (from left) Jeff Lawrence, Sheriff Mike Worrell, Deputy Giampocaro and Zeus.
