Earline Marie Watson

Earline Marie Watson, age 83, of Hiwassee, Va., went to be with her Lord, Sunday, May 6, 2018. She has resided at Carrington Place in Wytheville, Va. since 2015.

Born Aug. 22, 1934, in Bedford, Va., she was the daughter of the late Alanson Davis Watson and Janie Elizabeth Willis Watson. Her sister, Dorothy Henley and brother-in-law, John Henley, and nephew, Johnny Wayne Henley, also preceded her in death.

She was a faithful Christian, being a lifelong member of Allisonia UM Church until it closed and then became a member of Cecil’s Chapel UM Church.

She began her working career at Hercules lunchroom in Hiwassee, Va. Then she sewed belt loops at the former Sweet Orr and all the sewing factories that occupied that building until she retired.

She lived with and took great care of her parents through their last years of life.

She is survived by her nephews and nieces, Dave and Sandra Henley of Dade City, Fla., Aubrey and Sandy Henley of Kissimmee, Fla., Gayle and Larry Clark of Narrows, Va., Janet and Donnie Pickett of Austinsville, Va., Danny and Cindy Henley of Dublin, Va., and Doris and John E. Henley of Hillsville, Va.; three great-nieces; six great-nephews, and 13 great-great-nieces and -nephews.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski, Va., with Pastor Ruth Ann Henley officiating. Interment follows at Highland Memorial Gardens in Dublin.
