Sneha Aggarwal needed no help Monday cleaning up the competition in the Pulaski County Spelling Bee.

Aggarwal, a Pulaski Middle School student, correctly spelled the word “concierge” to take home top honors in the annual bee, held in the County Administration Building Board Room. She now travels to William Fleming High School March 10 to compete in the 45th Annual Regional Spelling Bee, sponsored by The Roanoke Times.

The winner of the regional spelling competition represents Southwest Virginia in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. It is held during Bee Week, May 27-June 1, at Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

Runner-up in Monday’s local spelling bee was Jacey Hendrix of Dublin Middle School. Other competitors and the schools they represented were Emma Ritter, Riverlawn Elementary; Taylor Shrewsbury, Pulaski Elementary; Chandler Hollins, Dublin Elementary; Madison Jarrells, Snowville Elementary, and Swati Aggarwal, Critzer Elementary.
