Pulaski Wolves continue winning ways

If Scott Ratcliff and the Pulaski Wolves had a dollar for every game they have won through the years, he could buy his squads quite a few trips to the concessions stand.

Ratcliff and crew traveled to Richmond recently to compete in the Martin Luther King Jr. Cap City Ballerz Tournament. They took two teams, seventh-graders and eighth-graders, and by the end of the tournament the program brought two more trophies home after going undefeated through the weekend.

For the eighth-graders the action started the action started with a contest against the Louden Freedom. They won that game handily, 50-24. Game two put them against the Hanover Havoc. A 47-29 win in that game sent them to the championship round. The Virginia Beach Threat turned out to be no threat at all, with the older Wolves celebrating a 53-11 win to earn the title.

The seventh-grade squad found the action a little tougher, with three of the top teams in the country in their bracket. First up was the Boo Williams Black Widows. It was a tough contest, but the Wolves won 44-36. Team Loaded, a combined team from the Tidewater area, put up a stiff fight also, but the Wolves won 50-43 to advance to the championship game. In that game the Wolves faced the Richmond BCCF. Pulaski earned a 41-20 victory to bring home their trophy.
