New charge filed in Radford attempted rape

RADFORD — A 25-year-old man charged in connection with an attempted rape in Radford in November was booked Friday on yet another charge stemming from the incident.

According to Radford Circuit Court records, Glen Aaron Revel was charged through a direct indictment March 10 with object sexual penetration by force. He was booked on the charge at New River Valley Regional Jail Friday, jail records show.

Revel was already being held without bond on November charges of attempted rape, aggravated sexual battery through incapacitation, burglary with intent to commit rape, property destruction and possession of marijuana.

Details of the Nov. 18 incident that led to Revel’s arrest have not been released. Revel listed in court files as being from Radford and Martinsville.

An April 6 court date is set in Radford General District Court on the charges filed in November. Revel is set to be arraigned on the new charge Friday in circuit court.
