‘Cruise In’ returns to Main St. Sept. 6

“Cruise In to Pulaski” returns to Main Street Saturday, Sept. 6, with classic and antique cars, musical entertainment, food and door prizes.

The cruise in was held at Raymond F. Ratcliffe Memorial Transportation Museum in August, but it will return to its Main Street location, between Washington and Jefferson avenues, for this final event of the summer.

New River Valley Classic Cruisers and the town of Pulaski sponsor the Cruise In events, which run 4-8 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month from May to September.

“The Jamtastics” are the featured musical entertainment for September. The group got its start in the New River Valley and boasts itself as being “dedicated and true to the groove.”

Influenced by musicians such as Grover Washington Jr., Marvin Gaye, Anita Baker and Earth Wind and Fire, The Jamtastics perform a wide range of genres, including jazz, funk, soul, R&B and more. Members of The Jamtastics have performed with artists such as The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Percy Sledge, Bob Mintzer and Allen Vizutti.

The band consists of Tom Hearn on drums, Rick Hendricks on bass, Milton Eddie on guitar, Janet Longerbeam on saxophone, Nate on keyboards and vocalist Tony Conners.
