Troy Scott started on the mound for the Mariners—he pitch five innings of one hit ball without surrendering a run.

Felix Jorge opposed Scott, and he matched Scott pitch-by-pitch. Jorge allowed two hits in five innings.

Peter Miller took the loss for the Mariners. Miller entered the game in the seventh inning, and the Twins got to him for two runs on one hit—Elizabethton batters recorded two hits during the entire game.

Second baseman Nelson Ward extended his on-base streak to four games with another hit. Designated Hitter Wayne Taylor also had one hit.
