Three-way fender bender sends one to hospital

Three vehicles were involved in a wreck just off Route 11 yesterday afternoon around 3 p.m., sending one person to the hospital and backing up traffic on the route’s southbound lane.

According to Deputy J.R. Reece, with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of a Honda Civic in the crossover failed to yield the right of way and struck a Hyundai SUV traveling southbound. The Hyundai then struck a vehicle that was stationary on Thornspring Road, near the Cougar Xpress convenience store.

The Honda Civic suffered severe front end damage, while the Hyundai had damage to the front fender and door on the passenger side. One individual was sent to the hospital, although there was no word on the severity of that person’s injuries, said Reece.

The driver of the Honda Civic was cited for failing to yield right of way once the incident on the roadway was cleared.

How many wrecks and fatalities have to occur at this location before they install traffic lights?

I know the lady that got hit and I think that she is ok, but she is also dealing with 3rd stage cancer. So I would request more prayers for her cancer also.

Many fatalities and crashes have happened at that intersection. It may be human error causing the problems, however, a traffic light would certainly help.
