The Southwest Times introduces ‘Positively Pulaski’

Sometimes it seems there’s a lot more bad news than good in the paper every day, but now the people of the community have the opportunity to change that.

The Southwest Times is offering the readers a chance to let voices be heard to share the positive side of the Pulaski community. Those who have a good story to brighten the day, turn a frown upside down, and inspire faith in humanity are encouraged to share that experience.

It can be anything including witnessing a good deed, a random act of kindness, a community enriching project, an individual in the community who deserves recognition, or anything that would show the good that sometimes hides in between the bad in our community. They don’t have to be long, just little tidbits and anecdotes about the best the community has to offer.

“Positively Pulaski” will run Wednesdays in the Opinion section of the paper. If you have something nice to share, send it to, call 540-980-5220, or stop by the office.

Sadly, some Pulaskians, and I am a native, seem to enjoy living in the past, which had its flaws though we seem to easily dismiss them, and not be willing to look ahead to the positive. West Main Development is making investments Downtown, Falls Stamping is creating 115 jobs in 3 years for the former Renfro facility, most of the Pulaski Furniture complex has folks renting — especially KTI Logistics. There is a new Depot, Museum, Theater, and soon to be Fine Arts Center. Let’s move ahead.
