‘Supplies for Seniors’ wins state recognition




A local program that collects and distributes household and personal care necessities to 250 or more homebound seniors in the New River Valley each winter, received a second place award from Commonwealth Council on Aging.

Supplies for Seniors won $3,000 for its second place standing in the Council’s 2014 “Best Practices” awards, which are presented each May during Older Virginians Month. The awards honor organizations for their “creative and effective approach to serving older Virginians” through innovative programs that can be replicated across Virginia.
