Fire department hosts rope rescue training



The Pulaski Fire Department recently hosted a rope rescue training course for various local fire and rescue teams and agencies.

According to Pulaski Fire Chief Bill Webb, those teams and agencies work together to provide assistance to the area emergencies where rope rescue is indicated. They may also be deployed to support various other types of rescues or emergencies

Those teams and agencies are made up of both career and volunteer personnel. The participants consisted of members of the Dublin Volunteer Fire Department, Pulaski County Special Operations Team, Pulaski County Emergency Management, the Pulaski Fire Department Rope Rescue Team.

According to Webb, frequent training is required using various scenarios to maintain personnel skills in equipment and rescue techniques.
