Adam McPeak and the Mountain Thunder Band will open on the main stage at 2 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m.

Adam McPeak, a 17-year-old mandolin player, has headed up his own band since the age of 13 in 2009. He didn’t have to look beyond the Blue Ridge Mountains to find the talent he was searching for to complete his band.

The band includes a rich blend of harmonies from Adam’s dad, Mike McPeak on rhythm guitar; Steve Chrisley, a deep rich baritone who picks the five string banjo; Marlon Dean, sawing out the fiddle breaks; Nikki Wright on twin and harmony fiddle, and lead and harmony vocals and David Chrisley, holding them all together on the bass fiddle.

This group’s “toe-tapping” music has won several group and individual awards over the years.  Advance tickets are $8 and tickets at the gate are $10. Children 12 and under admitted free. Call 540-994-8627.
