“What happens when two women who are complete opposites find themselves living in the same house? Mayhem, laughter, and flying pasta! New River Stage presents Neil Simon’s comedy, The Odd Couple – Female Version, on the stage at Blacksburg’s Warm Hearth Village Center, the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May,” says Alex Parrish, board president of New River Stage (NRS).

For those unfamiliar with NRS, here’s some background. In 2004, the father-daughter team of Joe and Kyla Trice were the initial founding members of Trisoul Productions of which New River Stage became a production wing. With Courtney Thomas and Robert Smith aboard, Trisoul evolved into a state-approved, incorporated, non-profit company in Virginia with IRS tax-exempt status. Its Website states, “NRS remains dedicated to offering its core theatrical opportunities  to the New River Valley: adult community theatre productions, children’s theatre shows, summer theatre camps and after-school workshops for children.”

The Odd Couple (F. V.) will be the 18th production of NRS. Director Mike Vaughn has cast Jennifer Nardine as Olive Madison, Kaity Aigner as Florance Unger, Beth Moody as Sylvie, Babs Ogliaruso as Vera, AJ Brightman Moose as Mickey the Cop, Gwyneth Homer as Renee, Mike Ogliaruso as Manalo Costazuela, and Tommy Susano as Jesus Costazuela.
