Wythe County hires new Parks and Rec director

Kevin Williams, a 2002 graduate of Rural Retreat High School, began work this week as Wythe County’s director of parks and recreation.

According to a news release Wythe County, Williams is a graduate of Radford University and comes to the county after having worked as program director at the 4-H Center in Abingdon.

In the release, Williams stated that it is his desire to see the county’s parks and recreation program expand and become more inclusive to county residents of all ages.

“This job gives me an opportunity to come back home and work for the county,” said Williams. “In the days to come we hope to build up quality programs for everyone.”
