Janet Johnson to retire from New River Community Action




After 43 years of service Janet Johnson has announced her retirement from New River Community Action.

Johnson, who was the lead community service worker for New River Community Action, worked with various organization in the New River Valley to combat issues such as hunger and homelessness. She has worked with organizations such as United Way, and was also the director for the Emergency Needs Task Force., which donated food, money and time the Dublin’s FedEx.

Johnson’s 43-year career with New River Community Action will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 24 at the Pulaski Historic Train Station from 4-6 p.m. For more information about attending that celebration, email Jamie Raines at jraines@nrcaa.org, or call 540-633-5133.

    I remember the first time I met Janet. She was a caring and helpful person. I knew she was one in a million person.
