RSVP volunteers give time to help homebound seniors

For homebound senior citizens, getting out to pick up even the most basic of supplies can be a challenge – especially during the winter months.

Thanks to the “Supplies for Seniors” program, 275 homebound seniors living in the New River Valley will be receiving bags filled with supplies to “help these individuals through the tough winter months,” said Ava Stilwell, head of Pulaski County’s Retired Senior and Volunteer Program (RSVP).

Last week, 30 RSVP volunteers from Pulaski and Montgomery counties and the city of Radford gathered at Pulaski’s Central Gym to package supplies that had been collected through the program, sponsored by New River Valley Agency on Aging.
