Budweiser/Virginia Eagle makes donation to help military families

MarinersThe Pulaski Mariners are pleased to announce that local Budweiser and their local distributor, Virginia Eagle Distributing, have donated $1,700 to the Military Family Support Center of Salem.

As a promotion this past season, Budweiser and Virginia Eagle pledged $50 for every homerun hit by a Mariners player at Historic Calfee Park. This season the Mariners hit 34 homeruns for a grand total of $1,700, which nearly doubled last season’s total.  That brings the two-year total donation to more than $2,500 donated.

“Both Budweiser and Virginia Eagle have always had a great appreciation for our service men and women,” said Scott Heinz, COO of Virginia Eagle Distributing.  “We are very pleased to be able to offer this donation to the local support center and help support the community we serve.”

The Military Family Support Center is headquartered in Salem, and focuses on the welfare and needs of military families of service men and women. They compensate to provide goods, information, and socialization for military families of active and reserved service men and women in remote areas.  Two-thirds of the military families are denied services and needs as there is no military base near the area.
