Pulaski County Wrestling Season Celebrated

IMG_9733Dublin- The 2012-2013 wrestling season for all levels of Pulaski County wrestling was celebrated Tuesday evening in the Pulaski County High School Commons. The families, friends, coaches and wrestlers enjoyed a pot-luck dinner of delicious food before the awards were revealed.

Head High School Coach Dan Butler and Coach Bobby Alger recognized the pee-wee recreation league wrestlers with certificates of participation. Head Coach Joe Levine with assistant Coach Alger and JP Widner recognized the combined Pulaski Middle/Dublin Middle wrestlers.

Coach Butler finished the program by recognizing the high school wrestlers. Virginia High School League certificates were awarded to the Virginia State Wrestling Championship qualifiers (Corey Smith, Heath White, Cory Hale, Ian Jarrells and Kaleb Nelson). All the varsity team members clocked in enough time on the mat to earn a varsity letter for the season. Corey Smith earned the Most Valuable Wrestler Award, Heath White earned the Most Improved Award and Cory Hale earned the Cougar Heart Award for the third consecutive season. Bobby Alger received an appreciation award for his dedication and service to the recreation/middle school level wrestlers in Pulaski County.
