Lady Cougars receive All-Region IV honors

     The Lady Cougar softball team continues to see players recognized for their hard work from this past season, and three players were recently selected to the All-Region IV squad.
     Sara Wright was selected as one of the four infielders on the first team.  Wright is joined by pitchers Taylor Asimakopoulos of Cave Spring and Logan Viers of  Abingdon.  Corbin Holder of Tunstall, Eden Durnil of Carroll County, and Ebony Reynolds of  Patrick County complete the infield.  Courtney Cooper of Cave Spring, Kelsey VanAsch of Tunstall, and Bri Sparks of Tazewell were selected as outfielders.  Hannah Savedge of Magna Vista, Hailey Porth of Blacksburg, Abby Beatty of Cave Spring, Leanna Toler of Abingdon, Julia Hutchens of Patrick County, Cheyenne Strickland of Carroll County, and Taylor Mabry of Bassett were also selected to the first team unit.  Logan Viers of Abingdon was selected as the Player of the Year, Taylor Asimakopoulos of Cave Spring was selected as Pitcher of the Year, and Nick Sharpe  of Cave Spring was selected as the Coach of the Year.
     Lady Cougar senior Kelli Duncan was also selected to the regions second team unit, and senior catcher Jordan Chrisley was selected as an honorable mention for the squad.
     All three players have now graduated and are preparing to attend their colleges of choice.
