BREAKING NEWS: Meth lab raided in apartment, two arrested

Authorities arrested two people late Friday night in connection with a methamphetamine lab found in an apartment in downtown Pulaski.

Lt. Mike Hudson with Pulaski Police Department said the lab was found in an apartment at Northside Apartments on the upper floor of the building on the northeast corner of Third Street and North Washington Avenue.

Two people were arrested, but their identities were not available Saturday. Hudson said the investigation is ongoing.

All nine apartments in the building had to be evacuated because the odor of chemicals being used in the manufacturing process was so strong, said Hudson. Pulaski Fire Department and hazardous materials personnel were called to the scene for decontamination purposes.

Hudson was uncertain when residents of Northside Apartments were able to return home.

Members of the Claytor Lake Regional Drug Task Force assisted with the incident, which occurred around 10:30 p.m.

Some people have negative things to say about Pulaski Police Department. Not me. I think they are doing a great job. Keep up the good work.
