C'b Memorial Cruiser Hood-webCHRISTIANSBURG – Christiansburg Police Department unveiled a Memorial Police Vehicle this week that will be used for patrols throughout the summer in honor of the nation’s military.

According to a press release from Christiansburg spokeswoman Becky Wilburn, the vehicle was dedicated to “past, present, and future Americans who have courageously served their country.” Members of the Army, Marines and Navy were present for the dedication.

“This vehicle is a way for the Christiansburg Police Department to show our respect and admiration for the men and women who serve our country,” said Police Chief Mark Sisson.

The police cruiser is detailed in camouflage lettering, with depictions of the American flag. A large image of the raising of the American flag at Iwo Jima covers the hood. All costs for detailing the patrol vehicle came from donated funds.

In addition to being used for patrols, the vehicle also will be displayed at future Memorial Day and July 4 events.
