Police seize cash, drugs from Pulaski home

Drugs & money-webBy MELINDA WILLIAMS

Pulaski police and officers with the Claytor Lake Regional Drug Task Force seized drugs and more than $7,000 in cash from a Pulaski home last Thursday.

According to Officer Megan Jennings with Pulaski Police Department, a search warrant was executed at the Magazine Street home “subsequent to an ongoing investigation by Detective (S.J.) Riggins.” During the search, authorities seized $7,713 cash, cocaine, marijuana, a digital scale, a glass smoking device and other drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the search, Jennings said “multiple charges” are pending against Richard Lawrence Lake Jr., 33, of Pulaski “and other involved parties.”

According to court records, Lake pleaded guilty in Pulaski County Circuit Court in 2011 to distributing cocaine in March 2010. He received a suspended 10-year prison sentence.

Records show Lake also pleaded guilty in 2011 to charges of conspiracy to impede a witness, obstruction of justice and malicious wounding stemming from a June 2010 incident. He received a total of 20 years on those three pleas. However, all but one-year, 10 months on the malicious wounding conviction was suspended.

Carol, are you some kind of nut? You start out by saying…’couldnt agree more,’ who are you agreeing with? I see no one else making a comment supporting your statement. I also see your spelling could use some work…do you actually believe the Police in the Town and County are so corrupt that they seize and then sell drugs? Everything you see on that table will be brought before a Judge and if anything is missing then I will concur with you…..get a life….and a good English course and perhaps you watch too much TV.

No kidding it’s a strong statement. Carole why would you make such a jacka$$ and baseless comment about the police officers who just made your community a little bit safer? An accusation against people who would gladly lay down their lives FOR YOU when you call 911 needing help! What a hypocrite! I say thank you and job well done to these skilled, brave, and professional men and women. Keep up the great work! Please ignore idiots like Carole?

If the shoe fits wear it and I think in response to Ned’s comment the shoe fits and perhaps your elevator does not go all the way to the top. And if you need me to explain the elevator part then ask. And perhaps you are only playing with half a deck.

How in the world can they justify suspending that much time?? Wow! That just does not seem to be fair justice AT ALL. It’s no wonder there is so much drug use in our area. Punish these people and quit giving them a slap on the wrist. Maybe he ratted someone out, who knows…but this is ridiculous. Our town needs to grow some balls and enforce these laws. I don’t care if you grew up in this town and knew him since he was a kid or “he is a good fella just made bad decisions”. If you are a drug dealer…you are a BAD PERSON and need the full time sentence THE END!

Wow Carol, as a WOMAN, I have to agree with Ned here. I won’t go as far at to call you an idiot but you are slandering the police, who in reality did not sentence this person the JUDGE did. Another thought for you, you may want to think about God when you make those negative remarks. Aren’t you judging the police officers.. rather than applying that bible (which is the instruction book your God has given you) when it says “Judge not, Less you be judged”.. so Ned calling you an idiot is no less than you “assuming” these drugs would be resold by the police oficers. I live 5 hours away from my hometown of Pulaski County and can tell you, this same action happens everywhere. The system is seriously flawed. PERIOD. P.S. It sounds very harsh for you to tell Ned and Cat to “get a life” when YOU yourself are doing the exact same thing they are.. responding, leaving an opinion or reading your newspaper.. Judging again? Read that bible you seem to be thumping so hard… then live by it. P.S.S…Ned congrats on 19 years of marriage.. I bet its that direct communication you have that has kept a marriage good that long :)

Any chance “Carol” is not a toothless, slack-jawed yokel, but actually a so·phis·ti·cat·ed and talented troll, just baiting folks . . .

Thank you officers, judges, first-responders, teachers and all trusted public servants.

No thank you Carol. Go back to scavenging Sudafed. See you in the booking log, loser.
