Volunteers needed for Pulaski projects



Volunteer Pulaski is seeking additional volunteers to help with a number of town projects slated for this year.

Volunteer Pulaski is a group of citizens, employees and government officials organized to create a database of volunteers for the town to call upon for projects as needed.

“If you only work on one project during the year it will be of help to us,” said Town Manager John Hawley.

Those interested in volunteering time or services can email volunteer@pulaskitown.org or call 994-8600.

Following is a list of specific events for which volunteer assistance is needed:

•Easter Egg Hunt in Jackson Park, March 23 (Rain date: March 30), 11 a.m.;

•Opening of Raymond Ratcliffe Transportation Museum on Washington Avenue, April or May;

•Color Me Cameron Run, April 6, 9 a.m., downtown Pulaski;

•Spring Festival/GPA, April 20, time and location to be announced;

•Pulaski Fresh Event, April 27, time and location to be announced;

•Lunch at the Depot, May 16, 11:30 a.m., at the train station;

•Bluegrass concert, May 18, Calfee Park;

•Cruise In/Swap Meet, June 8, 4-7 p.m., downtown Pulaski;

•Movie, June 8, , Pulaski Theatre;

•5-K Race, June 15, 9 a.m., Cool Springs Park;

•Welcome Back Mariners Luncheon, June 20, Calfee Park;

•Lunch at the Depot, June, date and time to be set, at the train station;

•Ratcliffe Museum Golf Tournament, June 21, 1 p.m., Pulaski Country Club;

•July 4 Parade and Ballgame, 11-4 p.m., downtown Pulaski and Calfee Park;

•Cruise In, July 13, 4-7 p.m., downtown Pulaski;

•Lunch at the Depot, July, date and time to be set, at the train station;

•Lunch at the Depot, August, date and time to be set, at the train station;

•PulaskiFest, Sept. 28, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Jackson Park;

•Fire Prevention Parade, Oct. 10, 7 p.m., downtown Pulaski;

•Treat Trail, Oct. 31, 3:30-7 p.m., Pulaski;

•Christmas windows, date and time to be announced, downtown Pulaski;

•Christmas Parade/Tree Lighting, Dec. 5, 5:30-6:45 p.m., Jackson Park, and

•Polar Express trolley tours, Dec. 12, Pulaski.

The group also has several other projects volunteers could be used for, including several programs designed to help keep the town clean: Adopt-A-Street, Adopt-A-Park and the holding of town-wide clean-up days.

Volunteers also will be needed to man the museum, clean Calfee Park after events, plant flowers, etc.
