UPDATE: Police find no threat to county schools

According to Pulaski Police Capt. Anthony Meredith, investigators have concluded their investigation into an incident that resulted in a lock-down at several schools today and have found there was “no substantiated threat” to any school.

Meredith said an alleged threat reported to police this morning developed as the result of a misunderstanding and had been passed along by over 10 individuals before being communicated to a school employee early Tuesday.

For more details of the incident, see the Wednesday, Jan. 9, edition of The Southwest Times.

Why did the school system choose not to use the alert system to let parents know what was going on? Parents should not hear about a lockdown on the news. If it is serious enough to lock down the schools parents should have had a message.

Point Brooke! However, we are talking about Pulaski officials and not law enforcements responsibility of the notification. Now, we are talking about the same officials who allowed 50K to magically disappear under their noses….this should be a complaint thats has a response to it because its a great complaint. This should be sent to a state official instead of county officials who will blow smoke..
