Jujitsu program to hold first graduation



Nearly two-dozen martial arts students will be graduating to a yellow belt Saturday as New River Jujitsu holds its first graduation. Instructor Ric Anderton said international fighter Robert Stines Jr., a 10th degree black belt who heads Sanshin-ryu Jujitsu International will speak at the graduation and hand out diplomas. The graduation will begin at 10 a.m. at the Fine Arts Center Annex on Fourth Street in Pulaski. Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley sponsors the classes. Anderton said sanshin ryu jujitsu is a form or martial arts that combines three major elements: karate, judo and jujitsu.
