Edith June Edwards Trail

Edith June Edwards Trail, age 82, of Hiwassee, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at her home after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born Sept. 24, 1930 in Delton, she was the daughter of the late Dillard Edwards and Maggie Atkins Edwards. Her husband, Early Trail; one son, William “Bobby” Trail; two sisters, Frances Marshall and Velma Edwards, and one brother, Jimmy Edwards, also preceded her in death.

She was a member of Hiwassee Church of the Brethren. She retired from Renfro, Pulaski.

Surviving are her daughters, Patty Trail, of Hiwassee, and Kathy Trail and husband, Jackie, of Hiwassee; son, Jimmy Trail and wife, Bobbie Jo, of China Grove, N.C.; grandchildren, Jeremy Trail and wife, Lori, of Christiansburg, and John Trail, of Hiwassee; great-grandchildren, Ben and Carly Walden and Mallie Grace Trail, of Christiansburg; daughter-in-law, Marie Trail, of Hiwassee, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Nov. 25, 2 p.m., at Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. Leslie Shelton and Pastor Troy Mays officiating. Interment will follow in the Trail Family Cemetery, Hiwassee.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 24, from 6-8 p.m., at Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.

Flowers will be appreciated, however, the family suggests memorials may be sent to the Pulaski Humane Society and St. Judes Children’s Hospital.

    The sweetest person I’ve ever known, she always felt like family. I will miss her greatly. I hate that I can’t be there as I’m to have eye surgery Mon. She has a fine family indeed….
