A Belspring man is being held without bond in the murder of a Parrott man whose body was found in an abandoned house early Thursday morning.

Pulaski County Sheriff Jim Davis said the body of 50-year-old Stephen Harrison Bane, was found by members of the sheriff’s office around 2:30 a.m. It was in a vacant home on Creek Road in the Parrott Community.

Davis said Bane, who was last seen in the Parrott area late Monday, was a resident of the Parrott Community, but no specific address was available. Bane was last seen in the Parrott area late Monday evening.

Mr. Bane’s death appears to have been the result of a violent confrontation,” the sheriff said in a press release.

According to Davis, the investigation determined Bane and the murder suspect, Roland Keith Wilson Jr., 41, became involve in a verbal altercation Monday evening and it turned physical. He indicated the altercation occurred inside the abandoned house where the body was found.

An autopsy is being performed to establish the official cause of death.

Wilson is charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bond in New River Valley Regional Jail. Wilson currently lives in the area of Belspring Road, but he previously lived in Montgomery County, Davis said.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.
