Ruby F. Underwood

Ruby F. Underwood, of Pulaski, passed away late Monday, Jan. 23, 2012.  

Ruby, known as “Nana” to her family, was born in Bland, to Glenn and Grace Fanning.  Ruby was a dedicated and faithful member of the Refreshing Center Church of God in Pulaski for 47 years.  She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Underwood; her parents; four brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by daughter, Rosa Lee Turpin and husband, Gene; son, Terry E. Hale and wife, Rhonda, all of Pulaski; granddaughter, Gena Turpin Hanks and husband, James, Pulaski; grandsons, Brian Turpin and wife, Karen, Dublin, and Terry “Bo” Hale, Pulaski; great grandchildren, Amber Hanks Vaughan and husband, Bill, Claremont, N.C.; Brad Hanks and wife, Jessi, Pulaski; Conner Turpin and Emma Turpin, Dublin; great-great grandchildren, Landon Vaughan, Lexi Vaughan and Kaden Hanks.

Also surviving are brothers, Gerald Fanning and wife, Jean, of Bland; Clarence Fanning and wife, Gloria, of Wilmington, Del.; one sister, Maxine Repass, of Wytheville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 26, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Refreshing Center Church of God in Pulaski, with Pastor Jerry Collins officiating the funeral immediately following at 7 p.m.  Graveside services will be held Friday, at 11 a.m., at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.

A special thanks is extended to Medi-Home Health and Hospice and especially loving friend and caregiver Carla.

    Rosa Lee, I’m sorry for your loss. She lived quite a few years. I know she always made me feel at home when I would come and stay with you. Hope you are doing well. Will be in touch with you later. Take care and you are in my prayers.
