Fort Chiswell – Fort Chiswell travels up Route 8 Friday to take on the Floyd County Buffaloes.

Floyd (1-3) on the season is coached by Winfred Beale who’s been there many years and very competitive year after year.

“ Offensively and defensively we are pretty much mirror images of each other They like to run out of a pro I formation. They will run twins at times just like we do ,” said head coach Stephen James.

He continued by saying, “ On defense they will show you a 4-4 look, they will try to force you into throwing the football, a lot like we do.”

Yes Fort Chiswell (2-2) and Floyd Co. are mirror images. Both schools basically have the same colors, both are FC , both like to run the football and press the line of scrimmage.

Floyd will be led by running back Dorian Harris a 6’0” 205 pound junior. He will be featured for the Buffaloes and you probably won’t stop him, but you will need to try to control him to some degree.

Last years quarterback for the buffaloes, senior Matt Hollandsworth is now a wide receiver .

Coach James said, “ Their record is not indicative of how good they are. Their quarterback throws well. It should be a good football game.”

Game time is 7:00 pm at Floyd Co.
