YMCA’s sustaining fund drive progressing

The Hensel Eckman YMCA Sustaining Membership Drive continues to make progress in achieving its goal of obtaining community support in meeting its financial needs.
"In the past few weeks, 35 families and businesses have pledged over $18,000 in assisting the YMCA (to obtain) the fiscal support needed to remain viable to serve the needs of our community,” said Dan Grubb, chairman of the drive. “For the YMCA to continue to remain viable – the need for community support is essential! Our community deserves a multi-recreational facility and it will take the ongoing support of our community to ensure its ongoing existence."
The Sustaining Membership Drive will assist the YMCA in its goal to raise at least $5,000 monthly or $60,000 annually toward the operating budget of the "Y."
The drive will continue until Labor Day. At that time, the Board of Directors will have a realistic perspective of the amount of support that can be expected from the community as the "Y" goes forward in providing for the recreational and wellness needs of the community.
Becoming a Sustaining Member is possible by completing a Sustaining Membership Pledge form, and “listing the amount you feel you are able to contribute,” Grubb said. “You may choose to make a monthly or quarterly contribution by draft, credit card, check or cash.”

Applications can be obtained at the “Y” or by contacting Executive Director Suzanne Wantland at 980-3671.
