Leonard Edward "Buckskin" Dean

Leonard Edward "Buckskin" Dean, age 67, of Pulaski passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Pulaski Community Hospital. Born July 18, 1941 in Wythe County he was the son of the late Graham Robert Dean & Maude Alice Brady Dean. His brothers Graham Robert Dean, Jr., Marvin Dean and sisters Mary Crowder and Ethel Dean also preceded him in death. He was a carpenter by trade and most recently was employed at Guida’s Market in Pulaski. Surviving are his wife of 42 years Geraldine Hilda Peak Dean, Pulaski; son "Wink" Dean & fiancee’ Christina Melton, Pulaski; daughters Alice Dean, Pulaski; Brenda & Junior Richardson, Pulaski; Mary Lou & Matt Jackson, Pulaski; sisters Zella Alberta Davis, Galax, Va., Dora & Jack Hall, Bland, Va., Elizabeth Dean, Pulaski; brothers Nathan & Joyce Dean, Pulaski; Mike & Louise Dean, Austinville, Va., adopted family Connie & Terry Davis, Verna & Allen Davis; Susie & Jimmy Willard; Tommy Wayne & Julie Dean, all of Pulaski; 9 grandchildren and many more; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Interment will follow at the Peak Creek Mission Church Cemetery (Case Knife Road). The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
