ROANOKE — The Pulaski County Cougar junior varsity got routed by the Cave Spring Knights Tuesday night, 47-28.
The Knights’ Aaron Cupp scored 15 points and got help from Ryan Gladfetter’s 8 points and Andrew Birkhoff’s 7.
The Cougars fall to 5-6 on the season and got scoring from Chad Perry who tossed in 9 points.
Randall Cobbs added 6, Taylor Jones and Jordan Matusevich both added 4. Tyler Frazier and Carter Brookman scored 2 each, and Joey Triggs added 1.
The junior varsity takes on the Salem Spartans at 6 p.m. Friday at PCHS.

PC – Radford game
rescheduled to Feb. 12

The boys basketball game between Pulaski County and Radford, originally scheduled for Saturday night, Jan. 10 at Radford has been re-scheduled.
The new night is Feb. 12 at Radford.

Elks ‘Shoot Off’ contest
set for Jan. 11

The 2009 Elks Hoop Shoot Competition is set for Sunday, Jan. 11 (weather permitting) at 3 p.m. in the Dublin Middle School Gym. Hoop Shoot Winners from the Pulaski County School System should arrive by 2 p.m. for registration and verification, a parent, family member, or guardian  must accompany the student to register.
Winners from the Hoop Shoot “ Shoot-Off “ will be eligible to complete in the district competition and these winners advance to state competition.
The National “Hoop Shoot” Finals are in Springfield, Mass. from April 24 through April 27.
The Elks Hoop Shoot is open to both boys and girls who compete in age groups of 8-9, 10-11 and  12-13.  Competitors must be at least age 8 or no more than age 13 by April 1, 2009 to meet eligibility requirements.
School winners are determined by athletic departments of the school through competition or appointment.
Parents and students are encouraged to contact your school athletic director or call Doug Steger 440-0632 or Jim Chitwood at 320-5013 for details. Additional information may be obtained by visiting the Elks Web site Elks.org and clicking on the link Hoop Shoot.  
Local radio stations will announce alternate day if weather is a factor.
