| Callahan, Webb united in marriage (06-16-2008) Dierdra (DeAnne) Callahan and John Mark Webb were united in marriage on April 12, 2008, at 5:00 in the afternoon. The ceremony took place at the Alleghany Church of Christ in Christiansburg, Virginia. The bride is the daughter of Eddie and Rita Callahan, Dublin, Virginia. She is the granddaughter of the late Arnold and Oveda Linkous, Christiansburg, Virginia, and the late Dan and Alma Callahan, Tucson, Arizona. The ceremony was officiated by Eddie Callahan, father of the bride, and Robert Parish, uncle of the bride. The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a ivory wedding gown of Allure. The A-line dress was made of heavy duchess satin and featured a halter style neckline. The gown had heavy beading around the neckline and throughout the bodice. The dress extended to a cathedral train with beading and embroidery along the train. She wore an ivory veil with hand-beaded rhinestones that extended beyond the train of her gown. She wore a tiara of crystals. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory roses and seeded eucalyptus. The bride wore her grandmother’s original wedding band in memory of her. It was given to her by her mother and her Aunt Nancy to day of the rehearsal. Matron of honor was Shannon Thompson, Christiansburg, Virginia. The maid of honor was Irene Saul, Christiansburg, Virginia. Bridesmaids were Sherry Williams, Radford, Va., Pam Callahan, Dublin, Virginia, and Tammy Robertson, Pulaski, Virginia. They wore floor-length mocha gowns fashioned after the bride. They featured halter style necklines with beading along the neck and bodice. Best man was James Webb, Floyd, Virginia. The groomsmen were Todd Callahan, Dublin, Virginia, and Andrew Parish, Rural Hall, North Carolina. Junior groomsman was Jake Callahan, Dublin, Virginia. Flower girl was Lydia Hylton, Meadows of Dan, Virginia, and the ring bearer was Jaxson Callahan, Dublin, Virginia. Music for the ceremony was provided by Dan Bailey and Connie Leathers. Soloist for the ceremony was Vernon Landreth. Special attendant to the bride and wedding coordinator was Sharon Holloway. The bride’s parents hosted a dinner reception following the ceremony at the Farmhouse Restaurant in Christiansburg, Virginia. The tables were decorated with centerpieces matching the attendants’ bouquets of sage and ivory roses. Music for the reception was provided by Ed and Jeri England of England Music. The flowers for the ceremony were provided by Main Street Flower Shop, Pulaski, Virginia. The four-tiered wedding cake of ivory and chocolate was designed and made by the groom’s sister, Sandra Hinkley. The bride’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner in the church fellowship hall Friday evening April 11, 2008. The dinner was catered by the mother of the bride, Irene Saul, friend of the bride, and Nancy Parish, aunt of the bride. Special friends of the bride and groom Betty Hughes, Dan Bailey and Connie Leathers also helped with the rehearsal dinner. Following a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas, the couple now reside in Christiansburg, Virginia. |
