| Vaughn, Farmer united in marriage (03-24-2008) Carolyn Andriette Michelle Vaughn and Clarence Thomas Farmer III were united in marriage on November 24, 2007, at Blacksburg United Methodist Church in Blacksburg, Virginia. Officiating the evening ceremony was the Reverend Morris Fleischer of Blacksburg United Methodist Church. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Allison Pratt of Draper, Virginia, and Mrs. Barbara Phlegar of Blacksburg, Virginia. Andriette was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents, Suzanne and Terry Vaughn of Pulaski. She is a graduate of Pulaski County High School, Virginia Tech and Radford University. She currently works as a School Psychologist for Iredell-Statesville Schools. Thomas is the son of Patricia Talbert Farmer of Dublin and the late Clarence Thomas Farmer Jr. He is a graduate of Pulaski County High School and the University of Virginia. Thomas is a Vice President, Gross Market Strategies for Bank of America, Charlotte. Mrs. Laurin Young of Roanoke, Virginia, served as the Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Emily Lane of Radford, Virginia, Ms. Rebecca Conner of Dublin, Virginia, Mrs. Ashley Hale of Pulaski, Virginia, Mrs. Susan Futrelle of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mrs. Jennifer Martin of Barboursville, Virginia, Mrs. Breann Herring of Denver, Colorado, and Ms. Paige Farmer of Virginia Beach, Virginia, sister of the groom. The bride’s cousins, Taylor Woodyard of Dublin, Virginia, and Madolyn Mathena of Marianna, Florida, were the flower girls. Brandon Farmer of Charlotte, North Carolina, served as his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Mr. John Ascenzo of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mr. Andrew Buckman of Miami, Florida, Mr. Chris Heins of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Scott Lee of Miami, Florida, Mr. Andrew Haas of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, Mr. Justin Haynes of Radford, Virginia, and Mr. Brad Marshall of Manassas, Virginia. The ring bearer was Dustan Gay of Marianna, Florida, cousin of the bride. Honored guest was grandmother of groom, Bertha Talbert, of Pearisburg, Virginia. The elegant candlelight ceremony was accented with white hydrangeas, white eskimo roses, open champagne roses, green coffee berries and ruscus foliage. The bride wore a champagne A-line gown highlighted with embroidery, crystal beading and duchess satin trimmed empire and hemline. Female attendants were dressed in strapless, floor length, black satin gowns with champagne sashes forming long tails. The flower girls wore coordinating champagne satin dresses. Andriette was presented with a cameo broach from her adopted grandmother, Lois Smith, posthumously by her daughter Anne Matheson of Manchester, New Hampshire. The bride wore the broach on her bridal bouquet. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner reception at The Inn at Virginia Tech. The rehearsal dinner was hosted on the eve of the wedding by the groom’s mother at the same location. After their honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii, the couple returned to their new home in Charlotte, North Carolina. The bride and groom would like to extend special thanks to all of those who shared in their special day, especially the out of town guests. They would also like to extend thanks for all of the lovely wedding gifts and various showers as well as the many friends who were a part of this special day.
