| Crouch – Dunford (06-11-2007) Historic Avenel in Bedford was the site of the May 19, 2007, wedding of Amy Renee Dunford and Mark Jason Crouch. Avenel was once part of a 200 acre plantation. The house, circa 1838, survived the Civil War. General Robert E. Lee received his former troops there shortly after the war ended. The double ring ceremony took place at two in the afternoon and was officiated by Bryan Sheehan, pastor of Pecks Baptist Church in Bedford County. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The bride is the daughter of C. C. and Dreama Dunford of Dublin. She is the granddaughter of Eileen Averhart of Blacksburg and the late Bennie Averhart; and the granddaughter of Sadie Dunford of Waynesboro and the late Clarence Dunford. The groom is the son of Pamela Snead of Lynchburg and Clarence Crouch of Kingsport, Tennessee. He is the grandson of the late Dean and Nellie Eubank of Big Island, and the late Clarence and Elizabeth Crouch of Buchanan. The maid of honor was sister of the bride Audra Dunford of Forest. Bridesmaids were Alison Whitehurst of Bedford; Keri Wright of Lake Forest, North Carolina; and Diana Wyman of Holly Springs, North Carolina. The flower girl was the groom’s daughter Stephanie Crouch of Bedford. The best man was the groom’s father. Groomsmen were Dennis Leary of Moneta; John Johnson of Goode; and Lewis Tyree of Thaxton. The ring bearer was Caleb Martin of Bedford. Caleb’s mother Cheryl Martin of Bedford was the soloist. She was accompanied by Jan Stinnette of Huddleston. Stinnette also provided all of the wedding music. Aunt of the bride Debra Averhart of Blacksburg was the guest book attendant. Photographers for the wedding were Troy Bowyer of Forest; and uncle of the bride Roger Averhart of Blacksburg. The groom hosted the rehearsal dinner at El Cazador in Bedford. The reception was held at Avenel, hosted by the bride’s parents. The cake was created by Diane Wilson of the Inn on Avenel. The DJ for the reception was Rockin’ Rich of Lynchburg. Floral creations were by Tom Manning of Blacksburg. English ivy and magnolias from the Avenel grounds were also used. The bride is a 1996 honor graduate of Pulaski County High School. She is a 2000 summa cum laude graduate of Radford University with a major in fashion merchandising and a minor in marketing. She is employed as the manager of Peebles in Bedford. The groom is a 1996 honor graduate of Liberty High School in Bedford. He is employed by the city of Bedford as a foreman in the Public Works Department. After a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, the couple will reside in Bedford. |
