FLORA LENA HODGE (02-26-2007)
BARREN SPRINGS – Flora Lena Hodge, 88, of Barren Springs, Va., passed away Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab, Hillsville, Va. She was born April 28, 1918 in Pulaski County. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Walter Hodge, Sr.; mother, Fannie Quesenberry; a son, Terry Elwood Hodge; two daughters, Stella Hodge and Dorothy Sizemore; a sister, Dorothy Wall and three brothers, Harry Quesenberry, Raymond Quesenberry and Robert Gravley. She was a member of Riverview Church of God.
Surviving are: her eight daughters, Jean Allison, Allisonia, Helen Edwards, Barren Springs, Nancy Hill, Hillsville, Ada Hill, Galax, Della Duncan, Dublin, Debbie Corso, Vanessa Utt, Zana Jarrells all of Hillsville; four sons, John Walter Hodge, Jr., Draper, Billy Hodge, Tommy Hodge both of Barren Springs, Kenneth Hodge, Pulaski; three sisters, Shirley Arnold, Jennie Lou Stilwell, Ruby Mae Summers; one brother, Hugh Gravley; 32 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. at Riverview Church of God with the Rev. Raymond White, Rev. Wendle Gafney, Rev. Michael Collins and Rev. Tommy Barnes officiating.
Interment will follow in Memorial Christian Church Cemetery.
The body will be taken to the church where the family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, Va. is in charge of the arrangements.
