Two long-time Pulaski County residents have been placed in critical areas of leadership within The Southwest Times.
"This has been a great week at The Southwest Times," General Manager Kay Kline said in announcing the promotion of Danny McGlothlin to a newly created position of Circulation and Marketing Director and the return of Vanessa Young as Advertising Director. These positions are two critical areas of newspaper business.
"Our commitment to our readers and advertisers extends beyond editorial content and reaches into the home of every reader of our paper and every advertiser who depends on us to deliver excellent service and results," Kline continued. "We are focused on customer service. Having these key positions filled with dedicated, customer focused and quality local people is a major step in our goal to deliver to Pulaski County the best possible community newspaper."
McGlothlin joined the Southwest Times staff in 2003 in the advertising department, where he served as senior advertising manager. His previous experience includes an extensive background in customer service, including association with Roses, Powers Food Fair and Lowes.
He brings with him years of experience in customer relations and a determination and dedication to the readers and dealers who expect their papers to be delivered on time, every day.
In addition to oversight of the Circulation Department, he will be involved in The Southwest Times' commitment to be more involved within the community.
Married for 31 years to his wife Evelyn, the father of two sons and grandfather to a brand new baby girl, Danny is a long-time member of the Dublin Church of God and a Bishop within the Church of God.
The entire staff of The Southwest Times is delighted that Young has returned "home" as Advertising Director. She was the smiling face of The Southwest Times for 14 years and returns with renewed enthusiasm for her clients and their advertising needs.
"A positive attitude and focus on working hard for her clients has made Vanessa a part of the family – not only here, but with her clients as well. The years of experience in advertising and the dedication she has demonstrated toward her clients makes us especially pleased to have her back at The Southwest Times," stated Kline.
"I just want to thank all my clients for the years of support and friendship they have extended to me, and let them know how much I look forward to working with them again," Young said.
She is married to Rodney Young, a sports writer for The Southwest Times, and has two daughters and a new grandson.
