Citizens Courthouses Exhibits Committee

Will Meet on March 9, 2010 at 3 p.m. in the New River Room of the Pulaski County Old Courthouse. Included on the agenda will be scheduling events, citizens who are interested in the work of the Exhibits Committee are invited to attend.

Planning Commission meeting

This committee oversees zoning issues related to Pulaski County properties.

PSA meeting

American Legion, Post 7, Auxiliary and SAL Meetings
American Legion Post 7 Auxiliary and SAL will hold their monthly meetings on Tuesday, March 9 at the Post Home. The meetings will begin at 6 p.m. and a potluck meal will be served following the meetings.

Sons of Confederate Veterans
The Sons of Confederate Veterans, Stuart Horse Artillery Camp #1784 will meet on Tuesday, March 9, 7 p.m., at Ray's Restaurant, north of Floyd. Members of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) are also invited to attend. For further information, please call 633-5666 or 745-8182.

Salvation Army - Applications for Easter Baskets
The Salvation Army will be taking application for Easater baskets in our Christiansburg Office (for children aged 1 - 10 only) during the following dates: March 9 - March 18 - Tuesday thru Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. & 1 p.m., to 3 p.m. only. Parents must have with them a picture ID with a current address and either a picture ID, birth certificate, Medicaid card, or social security card for each child. No appointment necessary. Pulaski County Retired Teachers

Pulaski Unit of Retired Teachers will gather for potluck lunch and meeting on Thursday, March 11th at Dublin Presbyterian Church at 11:30 a.m. Louise Wade, author of recently published book, MELODY'S GIFTS will be guest speaker. Reservations are not necessary. All retired personel from the school system are invited. Books may be brought to lend or share.

A New Beginning Youth Rally

Memorial Christian Church Ladies Group
Will be having a basket auction on March 13 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the VFW Hall in Pulaski. The Youth Group will also be selling a spaghetti dinner.

Application Deadline

The deadline for submitting zoning applications to the Pulaski County Planning Commission and Board of Zoning appeals is March 15. Sierra Hike

Conditions permitting. Five mile, one-way hike from Rt. 613 near Wind Rock, descending Big Mountain to Rt. 635. Meet at the Kroger University City Blvd. parking lot in Blacksburg at 9 a.m. Be prepared for downhill hiking and some rocky stretches. Wear layers and non-skid soles, and bring a snack. New River Valley Agency on Aging Advisory Council and Board of Directors meeting
Tuesday, March 23 at the office of the New River Valley Agency on Aging. The Advisory Council meeting will be at 10 a.m. and the Board of Directors meeting will be at 1 p.m., These meeting are open to the public. Inclement weahter date, March 30.

Spaghetti Dinner

The Pioneer Ruritan Club is sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, March 26. The dinner hours are from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fort Chiswell High School Cafe. The $6 ($3 children under 12) dinner includes spaghetti, coleslaw, Texas toast, dessert, and drink, eat-in or take-out. Come bring your family, join the fun and support your community.

Schedule of Services for Holy Week at St. Jude Church in Radford:

Palm/Passion Sunday Mass on Saturday, March 27, 5:15 p.m. and Sunday, March 28th 11:00 a.m.

Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord's Supper on Thursday, April 1st, 7:00 p.m. (following the mass, the church will be open until midnight for adoration before the Blessed Sacrament)

Good Friday Veneration of the Cross Friday, April 2, 7 p.m. *Stations of the Cross at 3 p.m. Easter Vigil Mass on Saturday, April 3, 8:30 p.m.

Easter Sunday Mass on Sunday, April 4, will be held at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the church and 5 p.m. for the Radford University Community at Heth Hall Room #14. All are Welcome!
