Fredric Delp Rumley, 77, of Pulaski, Va., passed away at his home on Sunday, March 12, 2017.
Freddie was born Jan. 6, 1940, in Pulaski to George and Hazel Rumley. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1958. He later received an accounting degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. He served as a purser on the U.S.S. United States. He also owned Rumley’s Coffee and Tea Co. in Virginia Beach, Va. Freddie loved all animals, and especially his two dogs and cat. He will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Washington Rumley and Hazel Hubble Rumley, and brothers Ralph, Jimmy and Jackie Rumley.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Beatrice Rumley; nieces Beverly Stallings (Carlton), Benita Gross (Stan), Carolyn Wright (Mike) and Lisa Sawin (John); and nephews Ted Rumley (Diane), Quinton Rumley, Jeff Rumley and Johnny Rumley (Theresa).
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, at Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski. Burial will be followed at Oakwood Cemetery.
