A 55-year-old man died Tuesday evening when he was ejected from a utility task vehicle (UTV) that wrecked on Little Creek Road. The driver has been charged with intoxicated driving, according to police.

Pulaski County Sheriff Jim Davis said Dennis Dewayne Eversole of Little Creek Road died at the scene of the 7:05 p.m. wreck in the 2100 block of Little Creek Road, in the Little Creek section of Pulaski County.

Davis said Eversole was a passenger in the UTV, which was being operated by Jonathan Mark Hale, 36, of Dublin. He said the preliminary investigation determined the UTV was being operated on the roadway.

Hale was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and refusal to take a blood alcohol or breath test. He was being held at New River Valley Regional Jail Wednesday morning.

The investigation is continuing. Eversole’s body was transported to the Roanoke Medical Examiner’s office.
