Thomas Patterson Bain, age 84, of Dublin, Va., passed away Monday, Aug. 11, 2014 in the New River Valley Medical Center. Born Dec. 4, 1929 in Radford, Va., he was the son of the late Charles Bain and Beulah Corvin Bain. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Louise Enoch Bain, and son, Steve Bain.
He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Lynchburg Foundry.
Surviving are his children, David Bain of Christiansburg, Va.; Linda Manuel and husband, Neal, of Radford, Va.; Ronald Bain and wife, Cynthia of Dublin, Va; Elizabeth Bain of Pulaski, Va., and the late Robert Stephen “Steve” Bain; two special grandsons, Zachary Thomas Manuel and Jeremiah Stephen Bain; granddaughter, Angela Andrews and husband, James; special brother and wife, Roger and Stefanie Bain and son, Cody of Dublin, Va.; brothers and daughters-in-law, Donald and Helen Bain of Dublin, Va., Randolph and Judy Bain of California; sisters, Isabell Hedge of West Virginia and Mary Mayberry of Alabama, and special friend, Kenny Trail.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Aug. 15 at noonat Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin with the Rev. Marcus Harris officiating. Interment will follow with military honors conducted at the gravesite by the Pulaski VFW Post #1184.
A visitation will be held Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.
