A two-year-old child injured in a July 25 wreck that killed her sister has been released from the hospital, according to authorities.
Both children received life-threatening injuries when the car in which they were riding ran off the right side of Lowman’s Ferry Road, hit a tree and then rolled into a field Friday, July 25. Four-year-old Harlie Madison Lefler of Draper was ejected from the car and died at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital Monday, July 28.
The mother of the children, Crystal Lynn Lefler, 35, of Draper, is charged with driving under the influence of drugs (DUID), according to Capt. Jeff Saunders. She is scheduled for a Sept. 22 hearing in Pulaski County General District Court.
An investigation into the wreck is continuing. No additional charges have been filed at this point.
