Crongie Marzelle (C.M.) “Phil” Phillips, age 81, of Dublin, Va., passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014 at the Radford Health and Rehab Center. Born Oct. 19, 1932 in Pulaski County, Va., he was the son of the late Kenneth Clark Phillips and Edna Covey Phillips. His wife, Sandra Lynn Counts Phillips preceded him in death in 2013.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean War and he was an active member of the Pulaski V.F.W. Post 1184
He is survived by his children, Keith and Linda Phillips of Taylors, S.C. (grandchildren, Tom and Michelle), Karen Phillips of Chesapeake, Va.; step-children, John and Angie Thomas of Charlotte N.C. (grandchildren, Bailey, Olivia and Alex), Rhonda and Tim Almarode of Dublin, Va. (grandchildren, Jordan and Ashley) and special kitty companion, Sadie Mae.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27 in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Paul Goshorn officiating.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m.
A private family entombment will be held at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery.
