Fire officials haven’t been able to pinpoint the cause of a fire that damaged the Super 8 hotel in Dublin Wednesday night.
Dublin Fire Department Capt. Brad Wright said firefighters returned to the scene Thursday morning in hopes of pinpointing what caused the fire, but it remains “undetermined at this time.”
The blaze probably was the result of a cigarette being discarded in needles lying under the pine landscaping at the rear of the facility, Wright said. However, everything where the fire started was burned to such an extent “it’s been hard to nail down what caused it.”
Surveillance footage also was reviewed, but the cameras weren’t positioned at the proper angles to see the area where the fire started.
